Special Prayer Alert: The Family of Bishop Iker

FROM BISHOP IKER (Diocese of Forth Worth)

Chrissy, our oldest daughter (37), suffered a very serious heart attack on Friday afternoon, Feb. 15. She has severely damaged her heart again, having already had a very similar heart attack in 1997. She has only 25% of her heart functioning.

I am glad to tell you that Chrissy is making slow but steady progress and that after four days in ICU, she was moved last night (Tuesday) to a regular room. She now begins a regimen of medications for her heart and blood pressure problems.

Your ongoing prayers will mean a great deal to all of us.

From the Scriptures
"The prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise them up; and anyone who has committed sins will be forgiven."
James 5:15 (NRSV)

A Guiding Prayer
O Father of mercies and God of all comfort, our only help in time of need; We humbly beseech thee to behold, visit, and relieve thy sick servant Chrissy for whom our prayers are desired. Look upon her with the eyes of thy mercy; comfort her with a sense of thy goodness; preserve her from the temptations of the enemy; and give her patience under her affliction. In thy good time, restore her to health, and enable her to lead the residue of her life in thy fear, and to thy glory; and grant that finally she may dwell with thee in life everlasting; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
